Navaratri or the nine-nights dedicated to the worship of the Primordial Shakti. It signifies the victory of goodness over evil. Goddess Durga, who is worshipped during the Navratri, is a symbol of Shakti which means §Ó??ultimate strength§Ó?? is worshipped in her nine-fold manifestations. Hanuman Chalisa is a poetic composition of the great saint Goswami Tulsidas. Tulsidas is considered to be an incarnation of Saint Valmiki. It is believed that Tulsidas composed Hanuman Chalisa in a state of Samadhi during the ocssion of kumbh mela in Haridwar. Chalisa means forty and this famous composition has 40 verses in praise of Hanuman. Whoever chants Hanuman Chalisa with devotion shall attain the infinite grace of Lord Hanuman.

Upakarma consists of two rites- Utsarjana and Upakarma, which are related to the ancient practice of learning the Vedas. The main purpose of the Upakarma is to offer prayers and express our gratitude to the Rishi parampara which blessed our lives with the wisdom of the Vedas. The Yajur Upakarma follows the procedure laid down by Sage Apastambha.
